Reduce Fever without DrugsPediatrics say, an adult's normal body temperature is supposed to be 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, or 37 degrees Celsius, this can fluctuate throughout the day. Several points determine what a ‘normal' body temperature is. Some pediatrics also some individuals maintain a normal body temperature higher than 37 degrees Celsius and some maintain a lower temperature yet again, but yet again they can still be classed as normal. The reason for this is that a high metabolism rate will produce a higher body temperature, and a lower metabolism rate a lower temperature.
A rise in body temperature usually means an infection in the body and this can cause a fever. Fever symptoms are created by the body itself to kill off the germs, because the germs can't live at higher temperatures. If an adult's temperature doesn't exceed 101 degrees Fahrenheit and a Child or infant's 102 degrees Fahrenheit there is no need to try and lower it. It isn't comfortable and yet, it isn't life threatening, but it could help the body get well again. However infant fever happens when the body temperature becomes higher than 102 degrees and 101 degrees in adults, you should take steps to reduce it. Symptoms of high fever within the body are sweating, headache, lack of appetite, dehydration, muscle aches, shivering, burning eyes and general weaknesses. Here are some ways to lower a high fever: * Cold compresses pressed to the forehead. Rubbing the body with alcohol will bring down the temperature quickly as will a cold bath or shower. * A mixture of two to three table spoon's a day of dry roasted fenugreek seeds in water brought to the boil and then add a drop of ghee, then drink. This will help to lower a high fever. * A tea made by boiling the bark from a willow tree and drinking slowly will help reduce high fever. The willow tree bark is the source of aspirin. Tags:
